Payment is typically due at the time of service through secure platforms. Payment methods and processes vary depending on whether you use traditional payment or Thrizer (see Insurance Reimbursement section below for details).

Cancellation Policy

I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows will be charged the full session fee. I understand that emergencies happen and am always willing to discuss individual circumstances.

Insurance Reimbursement

While I don't work directly with insurance companies, I can provide documentation to help you seek reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. You have two options:

Traditional Reimbursement Process

A superbill is a detailed receipt for services that includes all the information your insurance company needs to process a claim for out-of-network reimbursement. It includes diagnosis codes, procedure codes, dates of service, and other required information.

How to Use Your Superbill

  1. Contact your insurance company to verify your out-of-network mental health benefits
  2. Ask about your deductible, copay, and reimbursement percentage
  3. Request a superbill from me after your sessions
  4. Submit the superbill to your insurance company according to their process
  5. Receive reimbursement directly from your insurance company (typically 4-8 weeks)

Important: Out-of-network coverage varies significantly by plan. I recommend verifying your benefits before beginning treatment to understand your potential out-of-pocket costs.

Simplified Option: Thrizer

To make the reimbursement process easier, I partner with Thrizer—a service that handles all the insurance hassles for you. No more superbill submissions, insurance phone calls, or waiting months for reimbursement checks.

Thrizer Pay

5% fee

How it works: You pay only your co-insurance portion (like a copay) after each session. Thrizer fronts the rest of my fee and waits for insurance reimbursement on your behalf.

Benefits:

  • Pay significantly less upfront
  • No insurance paperwork or phone calls
  • No risk if claims are denied
  • Focus on therapy, not insurance stress

Thrizer Superbill Upload

1-2% fee

How it works: You pay the full session fee upfront, but Thrizer handles all insurance submissions and gets you reimbursements faster via direct deposit.

  • Direct deposit to your bank account

  • Automatic claim submissions and follow-ups

Let's assume you have out-of-network benefits with 70% coverage after deductibles are met, and my session fee is $200.

  • You pay the full $200 at the time of the session
  • You request a superbill from me, then file it with your insurance

No-Risk Guarantee

If reimbursements come in lower than estimated or a claim is denied, Thrizer absorbs the difference—they never charge you a refund or "back charge." You're protected from insurance surprises.
